After a multi-year lull, NASH R&D has picked up this past year with key data readouts, several programs advancing toward Phase III and Madrigal's resmetirom under FDA review with a March 2024 action. This graphic provides a look at the overall status of NASH drug R&D.

Turnstone’s initial public offering comes just one week after Apogee and Sagimet launched US IPOs. Also, Westlake Village BioPartners raised $450m for its third venture capital fund and argenx grossed $1.27bn in a post-Phase III follow-on offering.

Public Company Edition: Apogee grossed $300m and Sagimet raised $85m in the biggest initial public offerings in the US since Acelyrin’s $540m IPO in May. Also, Bausch entered into a $600m funding facility with KKR, Bicycle raised $200m in a FOPO and Caribou garnered $150m from an offering and Pfizer.

Public Company Edition: Private Galderma raised $1bn but said its next likely financing will be an IPO. Also, Azitra went public while Turnstone, Apogee and Sagimet initiated the process; Sutro signed a royalty deal for up to $390m; and despite a follow-on offering mini-surge, cost cuts continue.
