Keyword Search Tips

Below are some tips to get the most out of your searches.

Searching…
Begin by entering keywords into the search box – you can enter single words or phrases, company names, headlines, or author names – and clicking the search icon.

You can use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to broaden or narrow your search. Please use ALL CAPS for the boolean operators.

You can also nest search strings using parentheses, for example Pfizer AND (Novartis OR Merck).

Stemming (for example, searching for develop also finds developer and developing) is applied automatically. 

Use an asterisk (*) before or after a word or part of a word to retrieve all variants, such as develop*.

For an exact match, enclose the search term in double quotes (for example, “developer”).

Results…
The total number of results will display above the results and you can adjust the number of results displayed per page, and navigate to additional results using the controls at the bottom of the page. 

Some searches may yield hundreds or even thousands of results – so we’ve included tools to help you manage and filter the information to best suit your needs. 

Sort By…
You can easily sort your search results set by Date to see the most recent articles first (or the oldest articles first) or by Relevancy, which will display the most relevant articles to your search term(s) first. 

Filter By…
There are 10 ways to filter your search results to narrow them down and really target your result set to your needs. Filter your results by any combination of: Publication, Industry, Subject, Therapy Area, Device Market Area, Date, Company, Region, Content Type and Media Type. For example: You can do a keyword search on “cancer” and then filter to see just the opinion pieces from the past month about cancer research in Japan. Logged in subscribers will see results for publications they subscribe to by default, but can change the settings within the filter panel.

Email Results…
Once you have perfected your search results with a few simple clicks, you can easily share them with anyone using our simple email form. Just click to open the form, enter the recipient’s email address and your name and email, and it’s ready to send and share. 

Custom RSS Feed…
You can also turn your specific searches into custom RSS feeds so new content of interest to you is pushed to your feed reader automatically on an ongoing basis.
