It’s all go on the EU coronavirus front this week: three new therapies and another vaccine booster have been recommended for use, and a special session on the Novavax vaccine is to be held at the EMA next week. More production capacity has been OKd for three vaccines.

European parliamentarians have defended the formal marketing authorization approach being taken by the EU, saying “safety is of the utmost importance” if there is to be trust in coronavirus vaccines.

The two countries want the European Commission’s proposals to be more closely examined for their possible negative effect on pharmaceutical investment decisions. The industry federation EFPIA says it is surprised more EU member states aren’t taking the same stance.
