HHS office distributing stimulus funds

The Department of Health and Human Services says its Office of Recovery Act Coordination will distribute about $137 billion from the stimulus package enacted in February. Among the appropriations to be distributed from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, $1 billion will go toward HHS' Prevention and Wellness Fund. An HHS spokesman said $650 million of this appropriation will fund "a national initiative to advance prevention and public health," for which each HHS agency will make recommendations
