Data collected for more than 10 years during the National Institutes of Health-sponsored Age-Related Eye Disease Study is available to researchers, the National Eye Institute announces Nov. 10. Researchers can apply for access to the complete medical history records or access public AREDS study descriptions and documents. The latest AREDS results showed antioxidants and zinc as therapeutic for age-related macular degeneration (1"The Tan Sheet" Jan. 21, 2008, p. 14).
