Executive Summary
The Department of Agriculture requests comments on its Women, Infants and Children program as it prepares to work with Congress on the reauthorization of its supplemental nutrition programs in 2009. In a May 20 Federal Register notice, USDA asks for comments, which are due by Oct. 15, to address three themes it proposed to frame reauthorization of WIC and its Child Nutrition Programs: strengthening program management and improving nutrition services, ensuring all eligible persons have access to benefits and advancing technology and innovation.
