Executive Summary
The European Food Safety Authority published its final guidance for applicants on the submission of health claims July 26. The guidance says the application must contain information such as the characteristics of the food for which a health claim is made, a proposal for the wording of the health claim, including the specific conditions for use, all pertinent scientific data, the cause and effect relationship between the consumption of the substance and the claimed effect in humans and more.
