Probiotic infant formula: Nestle Good Start Natural Cultures is the "first and only" U.S. infant formula with probiotics that help support a healthy immune system, Nestle Nutrition announces April 30. Launching now, the formula is designed to help supplement-fed infants achieve higher levels of beneficial bacteria, improving the balance of microflora in the gastrointestinal tract and supporting a healthy immune system, the firm notes. In addition to beneficial bacterial, the formula contains whey protein and DHA and ARA for brain and eye development. Natural Cultures is available in Wal-Mart, Target, Babies R Us and other retailers and will rollout nationwide in July. The formula comes in 12 oz. and 24 oz. sizes for $13.99 and $26.99, respectively. Ads supporting the launch are breaking in medical journals and consumer ads and will run later in the year.
