Commission's three mock Web sites - "Arthriticure," "Virility Plus" and "Nordicalite" - received over 20,000 hits in last two years, Chairman Timothy Muris tells House Energy & Commerce subcommittee hearing Nov. 7. Sites tout bogus products and warn consumers of real-life scams. Dietary supplements "will continue to receive special attention" from FTC, Muris vows. "False or deceptive claims in the advertising for these products are especially rampant," he asserts, pointing to ever-increasing supplement sales and advent of the Internet as a marketing tool.
