Executive Summary
First database on isoflavones established by Department of Agriculture in cooperation with Iowa State University. The online database, located at www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/Data/isoflav/isoflav.html, contains files showing isoflavone values with references to 128 soy-containing and related foods. The year-long project was undertaken following FDA's Nov. 10 proposed health claim for soy protein and reduced risk of coronary artery disease (1"The Tan Sheet" Nov. 16, 1998, p. 4)
