LOW FOLATE INTAKE LINKED TO TWO-FOLD INCREASE IN RISK OF LOW BIRTH WEIGHT and preterm delivery in a study appearing in the April issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Conducted by Theresa Scholl, MD, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, et al., the study assessed folate intakes from food and supplements in 832 pregnant women in Camden, N.J. during the subjects' first 28 weeks of pregnancy.
