The specialty company Medicis said that it was the successful bidder at a bankruptcy auction conducted by Graceway Pharmaceuticals, and will pay $455 million for substantially all of the outstanding US and Canadian assets of the financially strapped US specialty company. The board of Medicis must approve the transaction.
