CLAIROL HERBAL ESSENCES SALES REACH $33.7 MIL. IN SECOND QUARTER, according to Clairol parent Bristol-Myers Squibb. The botanical shampoo and conditioner line, which bowed in the 1970s, was relaunched in January 1995 and hairstyling products were added to the mix in April 1996. The sales for Herbal Essences during the April through June period represent a 134% gain over the previous year. BMS released its second quarter statement of sales and earnings July 22.
