New European Diagnostics Association Appoints Directors

Executive Summary
EPEMED, the European Personalised Medicine Diagnostics association founded by Alain Huriez of French molecular diagnostics company TcLand Expression, has established its board of directors. Dr Huriez will be chairman, and other members of the board include: Mara Aspinall, president and chief executive of On-Q-ity and formerly president of Genzyme Genetics; Vincent Fert, president and chief executive of Ipsogen; Werner Kroll, head of diagnostics research and innovation at Novartis Molecular Diagnostics; Iain Miller, senior director of oncology strategy and theranostics at bioMérieux; Herman Spolders, chief executive of Oncomethylome Sciences; and Patrick Terry, founder of Genomic Health & PMC and chief executive of Technic Solutions. EPEMED is a not-for-profit organisation formed in August 2009. Its aim is to “make personalised medicine a reality” by harmonising the development and implementation of value-based diagnostics across Europe. Its members will include representatives from the diagnostic, pharma and medical device industries, from patient groups and professional service firms, as well as academics.
