Manufacturers of medical devices containing electrical components that are sold or intended for sale in the Canadian province of Ontario have until 30 August to register with the province’s Electrical Safety Authority, under the first electrical product safety legislation of its kind in the country1-3. Companies that fail to meet the deadline will be considered “unapproved” and will not be able to sell their products in Ontario.
