Two Taiwanese legislative committees have jointly approved a draft bill put forth by the country’s executive branch (the Executive Yuan) to establish a new Food and Drug Administration office that would bring a number of key regulatory and product safety activities under one roof1,2. For the Taiwan FDA (TFDA) to become functional, the bill now has to be cleared by the Legislative Yuan.
