Executive Summary
Christine Beerli will oversee operating duties at the Swiss healthcare products regulatory agency, Swissmedic, until a replacement is found for its former chief executive, Franz Schneller. Swissmedic announced Mr Schneller was leaving at the same time it announced a major restructuring of the agency. Ms Beerli is the chair of Swissmedic's Institute Council, the body which carried out a process and organisational analysis of the agency and identified deficiencies in terms of its management and processes.
