Del-Immune V imitator loses in court

This article was originally published in The Tan Sheet

Executive Summary

The Russian Choice Immune probiotic supplement falsely advertised it was identical to Pure Research Products' Del-Immune V, a federal jury in Denver determines. The imitator's marketer, Kikkoman Corp., a subsidiary of Allergy Research Group, also misled consumers by claiming the Vietnamese product originated in Russia, PRP said March 9. Del-Immune V's proprietary strain was licensed from Russian scientists in 2002, but is made in the U.S., according to Boulder, Colo.-based PRP. An analytical comparison of Del-Immune V and Russian Choice Immune posted on PRP's Web site found "dramatically higher amounts of protein, DNA, nuclear proteins and microelements" in Del-mmune V
