N.J. grants nutritional authorities to chiropractors

Licensed chiropractors in New Jersey may "provide dietary or nutritional counseling, such as the direction, administration, dispensing and sale of nutritional supplements," under a bill signed into law by outgoing Gov. Jon Corzine Jan. 18. Assembly bill 12029, introduced in January 2008, requires a "chiropractic physician" to take a course in human nutrition before providing nutritional services. The American Herbal Products Association supports expanding traditional health care to include more nutritional offerings.
