NCCAM also awarded CER support to the University of Wisconsin for research on the impact of loving-kindness/compassion and mindful meditations on the brain and body, and to the University of California, San Francisco, for a study on whether meditation, awareness and attentiveness while eating combined with a diet and exercise helps alter hormonal responses to stress and can reduce weight
