U.S. consumers spent $15.6 billion on dietary supplements in 2006, well ahead of the total in any other country, according to data from Euro Monitor, Information Resources Inc. and other sources, said Peter Zambetti, global business development manager for dietary supplements at Pfizer's Capsugel division.
