FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research spends approximately 2,844 hours annually on focus groups useful in obtaining data CDER uses to develop policies for labeling over-the-counter drugs, as well as other topics, FDA says in proposed collection of information submitted to the Office of Management and Budget. The information was released in an Oct. 15 Federal Register notice. Additionally, FDA says the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition spends about 569 hours annually on focus groups useful in obtaining data on dietary supplement safety and other food and nutrition safety issues.
