Treasury union on FDA lab closures

The National Treasury Employees Union announces Feb. 12 it sent a letter to Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., and Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., to halt proposed FDA Office of Regulatory Affairs lab closures. NTEU President Colleen M. Kelley says in a release the lab closures would compromise food safety. Kelley also says she disapproves of FDA's lack of communication with its employees, "I find it particularly egregious that the agency would let corrosive rumors about closings and consolidations spread throughout the workplace."
