Verdure Sciences moves aggressively in its plan to focus on research and development of bionutritionals by acquiring Geni Herb's patent-pending pomegranate extract Pomella and other branded botanical ingredients including Tinofend, Bacognize, Wokvel and Calzbone. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Indianapolis, Ind.-based firm, which also has a facility in Heilbronn, Germany, says it expects the transaction to make it a leading U.S. marketer of nutritional ingredients. The Geni brands also are marketed in Europe and Southeast Asia.
