A proposed rule defining carbohydrate nutrient content claims and an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking requesting public comments on data and information on "carbohydrate-related label claims and consumer understanding and behaviors related to such claims" is expected to publish "this fiscal year," according to FDA Deputy Commissioner Medical & Scientific Affairs Scott Gottlieb, MD.
