Albertson's and Take Care Health Systems will conduct a pilot of Take Care's in-store health centers in six Osco Drug stores in the greater Kansas City market, the firms announce Aug. 2. The clinics are open seven days a week, staffed by a nurse practitioner and require no appointment for services such as physical examinations, vaccines and diagnostic screenings. The service is similar to the 22 MinuteClinics that currently operate in Baltimore and Minneapolis. Other retailers also are following suit: Duane Reade will open its first RediClinic in Manhattan on Oct. 1 and will expand the service to four more stores by year-end. The clinics are owned by Houston-based InterFit Health.
