"Unknown safety and nutritional adequacy" of infant formula from China leads FDA to caution consumers against using such products. A formula named "Guan Wei Yuan" recently sold in an Asian retail outlet in New York was found by state agriculture officials to "contain less than [one-seventh] of the federally required minimal amount of protein per serving, approximately [one-quarter] the required amount of fat and only minute amounts of declared calcium and magnesium," FDA says.
