GMPs for homeopathic products, "Food Labeling, Nutrient Content Claims & Health Claims" among draft proposals FDA is considering withdrawing, according to 1April 22 Federal Register notice. Agency plans to withdraw 84 proposed rules that have not been finalized, are not considered public health priorities, and which have not received agency action in more than 10 years. "FDA's actions are part of an overall regulatory reform strategy initiated by" HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson, the notice states. Commissioner Mark McClellan, MD/PhD, says action is consistent with agency's commitment to "transparency in its regulatory actions."
