Executive Summary
"Striking reduction in mortality" found in patients with acute myocardial infarction treated with emergency aspirin before, versus those treated after, initiation of thrombolysis infusion, according to Feb. 15 American Journal of Cardiology. Dov Freimark, MD, et al., Tel-Aviv University, found that after 30 days, mortality of early aspirin users was 3.3% vs. 7.3% for late users; after one year, it was 5% and 10.6%, respectively.
