Executive Summary
Medicines Control Agency proposes lifting pharmacy pack size restrictions for loratadine (Schering-Plough's Claritin) and cetirizine (Zyrtec, marketed by UCB Pharma in UK) in an Aug. 24 "consultation letter" amendment. Antihistamines currently are sold in packs containing "not more than seven tablets." Responses to MCA's June 15 proposal to reclassify the two drugs to "general sales list," which permits distribution in non-pharmacy outlets, suggested the additional change (1"The Tan Sheet" July 2, p. 3). MCA will accept comments through Oct. 18
