Executive Summary
Bill making it unlawful to possess more than 5 g pseudoephedrine passes Arkansas House of Representatives Public Health Committee Feb. 22 after clearing Senate three days earlier. CHPA says it will seek to have legislation returned to committee for full hearing. Trade group notes SB 66, which it opposes, would make it illegal to purchase two, 96-count boxes of pseudoephedrine, each containing 2.88 g. CHPA also testified Feb. 15 against House Bill 1417, which would classify decongestant ingredient as Schedule V substance to be dispensed only under direct pharmacist supervision and limit consumer purchases to one package every 48 hours.
