Executive Summary
University of Western Ontario researchers note preliminary findings that cranberry has an effect on human breast cancer cell growth in animals. Mice that ingested cranberry products had a significantly lower number of breast cancer tumors, and their tumors were delayed, compared to the control group, suggesting cranberry could have cancer-fighting abilities in humans, Najla Guthrie, MD, et al., noted. Also, the cranberry-fed mice showed less spread of tumors to the lungs and lymph nodes. The study was funded by Ocean Spray Cranberries
