Executive Summary
Nestle voluntarily recalls 2.5 mil. cans of Carnation Good Start, Follow-Up and Alsoy concentrate infant formulas because processing may not have reached high enough temperatures for sterilization. The recall, initiated March 17, affects 33 batches of 13 oz. cans manufactured between Oct. 18, 1999 and March 13 and sold nationwide in food, drug and mass outlets. The recall encompasses only certain batches of concentrate formula; powder and ready-to-drink forms are not affected. Nestle says it recalled the product as a precaution, adding the formula poses no health risks to babies who have already consumed it and there have been no reports of adverse events
