Executive Summary
Antiseptic sterile towelettes, ointments, pouches, swabsticks, prep pads and protective dressings voluntarily recalled by Rocky Hill, Conn. firm due to potentially life-threatening bacterial contamination in certain product lots. Included under the nationwide recall, announced by the company and FDA March 9, are products with povidine iodine, tincture of iodine, benzoin tincture, acetone alcohol and alcohol antiseptic products, as well as Cliniguard Protective Dressing. Clinipad products, sold separately and packaged in institutional kits, are available in retail pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and blood banks
