Executive Summary
U.S. Preventive Services Task Force will evaluate effectiveness of vitamin supplementation to prevent cancer or coronary heart disease in the next year, HHS' Agency for Health Care Policy & Research announces March 22. Among the compounds to be investigated are vitamins C and E, folate and beta carotene. The group also will review four new screening tests/preventive measures and will revisit eight previously reviewed topics for which new information is available. USPSTF is charged with evaluating the scientific evidence supporting various clinical preventive health services
