Executive Summary
NON-DHA FORMULAS "CANNOT SUPPORT" DHA LEVELS OF BREAST-FED INFANTS, a multi-center safety and efficacy study in 288 premature infants conducted by Wyeth-Ayerst concludes. "These data provide further confirmation that term formulas that are not supplemented with preformed DHA cannot support tissue DHA levels similar to those seen in breast-fed infants," Wyeth Nutritionals International Clinical Nutrition Department Senior Director Arthur Euler, MD, et al., state, reporting on the one-year follow-up data from the trial.
