PREMALIGNANT COLORECTAL POLYPS LESS LIKELY IN ASPIRIN, NSAID USERS than nonusers, a study of 379 patients published in the March issue of Gastroenterology finds. "In summary, we found that premalignant colorectal adenomas were less likely among individuals who regularly consumed aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents," Robert Sandler, MD, et al., University of North Carolina, state. The study was funded in part by grants from the National Institutes of Health. Adenomas are precursors to most types of colorectal cancer.
