FTC/Venegas consent order: Federal Trade Commission votes 3-0 (with two abstentions) to make final a consent agreement with Venegas and owner Angel Venegas banning the company from making unsupported health claims about its Alen powdered nutritional supplement with wheat germ, wheat bran and soybean and seaweed extracts. Venegas is prohibited from claims such as: "Increases the immune system's defenses"; "Increases memory or scholastic performance"; "Helps diabetics naturally produce insulin"; "Lowers blood pressure"; and "Helps heal ulcers."
