DIETARY INGREDIENT DRIED EXTRACT SOLVENT DECLARATION REQUIREMENT in FDA's recently published dietary supplement labeling final rule is the subject of industry objections filed with the agency Oct. 23. A joint citizen petition by the Council for Responsible Nutrition and the Nutrilite Division of Amway and a separate citizen petition by the American Herbal Products Association both request reconsideration, stay of the effective date and ultimate withdrawal of the provision requiring the labeling of dried extracts to identify the solvent used in their production.
