Pseudoephedrine, PPA reporting exemption: Drug Enforcement Administration publishes interim rule Oct. 17 providing a temporary exemption from chemical registration requirements to the distributors of pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine products. Registration requirements for distributors of pseudoephedrine and PPA are effective Oct. 3 under the Comprehensive Methamphetamine Control Act. Those required by the law to register with DEA in order to handle pseudoephedrine and PPA products must submit an application by Dec. 3 in order to continue distribution until final action has been taken on the application. Comments on the exemption are due Dec. 16.
