Beta-carotene: Physicians' Health Survey study shows no increase in T-cell mediated immunity among subjects taking 50 mg of BASF Lurotin on alternate days for a period of 12 years, according to a report by Michelle Santos et al. in the October issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The long-term PHS study of 22,071 physicians nationwide has been examining research on chemoprevention using both aspirin and beta-carotene ("The Tan Sheet" June 2, In Brief).
