Executive Summary
OTC LABELING EXEMPTION SOUGHT FOR COSMETIC-DRUGS with no dosage limitations by the Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association in Oct. 6 comments to FDA. CTFA maintains that FDA's proposed OTC labeling revisions "are not relevant" to cosmetic-drugs that do not have restrictions on frequency, size or number of doses. Products that would fall under that definition include sunscreens, dandruff shampoos and antiperspirants. FDA published its proposed OTC labeling reg in the Feb. 27 Federal Register ("The Tan Sheet" March 3, pp. 1-9).
