"DIETARY SUPPLEMENT" IDENTIFIER IN LABELING MAY BE VARIED by including the name of a dietary ingredient or ingredients, such as "Vitamin C Supplement," FDA says in a Sept. 23 final rule on dietary supplement labeling. The agency also will allow use of an identifying term that describes the types of dietary ingredients contained in the product in "appropriately descriptive terms," such as "Multivitamin Supplement" or "Herbal Supplement.
