ALTERNATIVE CANCER THERAPY EVALUATION PROJECTS at NIH's Office of Alternative Medicine would originate at the OAM operations center under a proposed program from the National Institutes of Health. The Practice Outcomes Monitoring and Evaluation System (POMES) plan was presented by OAM and the National Cancer Institute at a meeting in Bethesda, Md. Aug. 4-6. Alternative cancer therapy studies to date mostly have focused on vitamin A and beta carotene.
