Petroleum distillates: Consumer Products Safety Commission extends comment period to July 11 for its advance notice of proposed rulemaking requiring that household products containing 10% or more petroleum distillates by weight with a viscosity less than 100 SUS at 100oF be packaged in child-resistant packaging, CPSC says in an April 28 Federal Register notice. CPSC listed baby oil as a potential candidate for CRP ("The Tan Sheet" March 3, p. 16). CPSC extended the comment period at the request of the Chemical Specialties Manufacturers Association, which says it needs more time to assess the "breadth of issues involved"...
