FTC DISCUSSIONS WITH CRN ON DIETARY SUPPLEMENT ADVERTISING will focus on advertising practices in the industry and whether the Federal Trade Commission's standards on claims substantiation need clarification. FTC Consumer Protection Bureau staff met with the Council for Responsible Nutrition April 1 at CRN's request to discuss the commission's activities in the supplements arena. Another meeting between FTC staff and the trade association is scheduled for later in May. FTC also is planning to meet with other associations in the supplements industry.
