FDA TIMEFRAME FOR SUPPLEMENT HEALTH CLAIM DECISIONS "EXCESSIVE," NHA asserts in April 15 comments on the agency's proposed rule that sets a time limit for when it will issue final rules on health claims for dietary supplements and conventional foods. Under the March 17 proposed rule, FDA has up to 270 days after the publication date of a proposed health claim to authorize or reject use of the claim ("The Tan Sheet" March 17, p. 13).
