EPHEDRINE/CAFFEINE STUDY UNDER WAY AT HARVARD AND VANDERBILT, funded by the Washington, D.C.-based Ad Hoc Committee on the Safety of Ma Huang and organized by the San Diego, Calif.-based consulting firm Science, Toxicology & Technology. The multi-center clinical trial is in the initial stages of subject recruitment. The study will "generate competent and reliable scientific evidence about the safety and effectiveness of ephedrine and caffeine-containing dietary supplements at ephedrine levels less than those being considered by the FDA," ST&T said.
