Executive Summary
NSAID TRANSDERMAL PATCH EFFICACY FOR MINOR SPORTS INJURIES being evaluated in a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial at the University of California at San Francisco Pain Clinical Research Center. The study is testing continuous transdermal administration of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug diclofenac sodium at the site of injury for a period of two weeks. Ciba sells the NSAID as prescription Voltaren in the U.S. but diclofenac has been switched to OTC status in the U.K. and France and is a likely candidate for a U.S. switch as well.
