McNEIL/ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION SETTLE 19 STATES' FALSE ADVERTISING CHARGES in a no-fault agreement filed Oct. 16. Minnesota Attorney General Hubert Humphrey led the settlement of the states' allegations that television, radio, print, in-store and direct mail advertising for the Arthritis Foundation pain reliever line misled consumers into believing that the drugs were new medications created by the Arthritis Foundation and that buying the products would provide funding to the foundation.
